Who cried when (and for those of us too manly to cry, we will accept teared up or a reasonable facsimile thereof)
1) Hedwig died 2) Moody died 3) Dobby died 4) They read Dobby's epitaph 5) Fred died 6) The scene after the first part of the battle where the Weasley's are gathered around Fred's body 7) Remus and Dora died 8) When Harry realizes that he must sacrifice himself right after seeing Snape's memories 9) Walking with his dead as he goes to meet Voldemort in the forest 10) Snape died 11) When they read the full name of Harry's second child. (For the record I agree with Richard that it is a bit cheesy, but it packs a bit of an emotional punch)
I am sure that I am forgetting some, feel free to add to the list. I just want to know what struck the emotional chord with you.

The biggest one for me was Harry walking with his dead.

For me, the worst death was Dobby's... such a heroic death. And Harry digging the grave by hand and marking the grave "a free elf". None of the other deaths hit me as hard.
Certainly Harry walking into the forest with the all his dead family and friends around him... and Harry asking if death hurts.

1) Hedwig died --> I was shocked with this one and felt quite bad 2) Moody died --> no, I wasn't surprised 3) Dobby died --> YES! Like everyone else, this hit me the hardest. 4) They read Dobby's epitaph --> I did get choked up with this. This scene and the scene with Harry and the dead were the ones that got me. 5) Fred died --> Shocked! Still not sure I believe it... 6) The scene after the first part of the battle where the Weasley's are gathered around Fred's body --> Not so much, because as terrible as it is, we seem to get desensitized to images of this from the news. This happens every day in Iraq, Africa, and so many other places and the news outlets that I pay attention to occasionally picture such a scene. Because of this I could imagine it so clearly in my head and it seems like such a part of life that it doesn't pack a punch for me. It's not my insensitivity - to the characters - it's just this seemed too familiar of a scene and it packs more punch for me when I see real people on the news and doesn't carry much emotion for me when imagining fictional characters doing it. Does that make sense, I hope? It was still sad. 7) Remus and Dora died --> Very, very sad though not surprised. A part of me expected it coming when they had gotten married; I assumed JKR decided to give them a few "happy" months together. 8) When Harry realizes that he must sacrifice himself right after seeing Snape's memories --> I was choked up when reading Snape's memories. 9) Walking with his dead as he goes to meet Voldemort in the forest --> Along with Dobby, this scene got me. 10) Snape died --> I definitely felt sad for him and what got me in this scene was that Harry sensed something; he did, too. 11) When they read the full name of Harry's second child. (For the record I agree with Richard that it is a bit cheesy, but it packs a bit of an emotional punch) --> Agreed that it did pack an emotional punch.

I was pretty upset when she killed off Hedwig without a "how do you do." I actually said, "No!" out loud. I felt that it was completely unnecessary and very sad. (Of course, I am very partial to birds, having two budgies as pets.) But still.... The loss of Fred and Remus also hit me hard. I wish she would have spared Tonks for their son Teddie..

ROTFLMAO!!!!!
Hedwig's death was, I think, Jo saying: if you haven't heard it, I'll tell you know: I can do ANYTHING in this book!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Um, no, haven't gotten there yet, but one of them does have a habit of landing on my head from time to time. It used to annoy me, but now I find it endearing. And, I do understand why she got rid of Hedwig. It was one less thing for Harry to worry about since he was not really going to need her. But still... Hedwig could have gone to stay in the Burrow instead. I just felt it was awful.

1) Hedwig died- No just shocked 2) Moody died-Almost on tears. I expected him to not survive the book. 3) Dobby died-yes 4) They read Dobby's epitaph-Had tears in eyes during the whole grave digging scene 6) The scene after the first part of the battle where the Weasley's are gathered around Fred's body-Yes 7) Remus and Dora died-yes 8) When Harry realizes that he must sacrifice himself right after seeing Snape's memories-Yes 9) Walking with his dead as he goes to meet Voldemort in the forest-Yes 10) Snape died -Actualy no at first. Then after the pensive yes. 11) When they read the full name of Harry's second child. thought that was kinda over the top. Maybe two different kids named Albus and Dumbledore.(maybe set of twins)

And I teared up for the applause scene. But most could be due to lack of sleep and eyes burned.

Hiya MUGWUMPS. Let's face it--this was not a blubber-free zone. Hedwig's death knocked the breath out of me, Dobby's had me boo hooing like a baby, Fred's, Lupin's and Tonks's were too terrible for me to even comprehend. Mad-eye...I think I said a bad word when that one was announced. Even old Crabbe gave me a moment's pause (although I think that was more for Jamie Wylett, who is such a sweetie.) Pettigrew deserved what he got and Snape's death blew me away with how matter-of-factly it happened. Talk about NO FAIR! The Kings Cross chapter was beautiful. My chest was hurting so much it felt like my heart was just going to burst out and flop pointlessly on the floor, as JK might say. Wouldn't that be gross? Now, on the other hand, being somewhat vindictive and bloodthirsty (years of teaching have taken a toll!) there are some whose death I was quite looking forward to, only to be sorely disappointed: Umbridge Skeeter Percy Kreacher Lucius (and all the rest of those DE's) Seamus Fudge Anyone else who made Harry's life miserable Mundungus on general principle
