Hi everyone, We have done this before with lists and stuff, but I thought it was time for a new approach: an introduction by describing yourself in a couple of sentences. I hope more of you will do so, as, when watching the members list, I don't know all the members of this board. Here comes my introduction: As you can probably tell, my name is Richard. I'm now 20 years old and I'm living in the Netherlands (that's in Europe ;D, for those of you who don't know). During my final year of high school, I got addicted to Harry Potter, which means I've been a fan for more than 4 years now. My favorite book so far is 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' and my favorite movie 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'. Besides HP, I spent my weekdays going to school or interning and in weekends, I like to party (for prove of that, visit my website, www.ricardovlasblom.tk, and check out the picture sections). I usually spent my other leisure time hanging out with friends, watching movies (at home or in the cinema) or behind my laptop. I've been posting on Mugwump threads since May 2002, so I know which members are most dangerous (not naming any of them of course ).Richard

Thanks for starting this thread Richard, it's a great way to get re-acquainted with old members and acquainted with new!!
So, here I go! For those of you who don't know, my name is Cali. I'm 23, live in Illinois-USA and I've just started my first year going to school to be a Radiology Technologist (ie X-Ray Tech-take those funny looking pictures of bones! ;D). I got hooked on HP in the fall of 2002, started posting on the HP boards in January of 2003. My favorite HP book is Goblet of Fire, and I highly enjoyed the movie. Things that I do not HP related...I work as a dispatcher for a hospital based Air Ambulance (helicopter) program, love going to movies w/ friends and my sister, I love Legos, games, any outdoor activity and I love to travel-biggest highlight was flying to London w/ Sapphire, Fins, Cissa, Weas, Hedwig, Healer and Lemon for the PoA Premiere!!

I'm Amanda. I'm from Holland (that's in America, for those of you who don't know) but I live in Canada (that's just north of America, for those of you who don't know). I am fascinated by languages/accents, people, architecture, the smell of books, and caffeine. Someday I would like to write (and get published) a multitude of books and work in Austria for a little while. I speak American English, Midwest English, I can fake a British accent in a way that sounds like an American trying to fake a British accent, I speak French (with an English accent), Italian (with a strong English accent), assorted phrases in Portuguese, German, Spanish, Russian, and some miscellaneous words in Dutch. I dream of visiting Rembrandt's house in Amsterdam, The Sound of Music singalong and Mozart's house in Salzburg, and a certain pond near a castle in Hampshire, England. I will most likely get a Masters degree, marry someone who is not American, and when I "retire" I plan on opening up an antiques/art shop that sells carefully selected old treasures from around the world and a variety of my paintings. I don't like meat but I eat it anyways. I do like nerds (the candy and the people). I like being me but I am secretly jealous of people who have an identity that is greater than themselves and surpasses the physical borders of the nation-state to which they belong (i.e. French-Canadian, Jewish, Chechen, etc.)

Ooh! I love talking about myself! ;D Erm...I am a mild-mannered, boring, middle-aged preschool teacher from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Trying to remember why I love talking about myself now. I love Harry Potter way too much, but have had some amazing life experiences by following my heart wherever Harry leads. I have 4 unhappy cats and 2 cat-loving dogs. Love to play piano, travel, go to movies, chat online and read good books. Looking for a man who--oops, that's another website! My name is Gayle, but I answer to Sapphire, even though that was my favorite cat's name. I speak Spanish and German well enough that, should I go to Spain or Germany I can say, "I don't understand what you are saying." In fact, I have done that. I have a Harry Potter tattoo (Harry reaching for the Snitch.) And, yes, it did hurt!

Hi peeps. I shall now be totally self-centered.
My real name is a secret, I think and won't be posted on this board. I am younger than everybody on this board. I have lots of free time and love to chat. I am still in school and my friends think I'm very dramatic. I'm intrested in laguages like latin, french and spanish. I will be tutored in hebrew. I will probably either end up being a english teach, actress or writer. In the magical world I would be half-blood since my dad doesn't believe in fantasty stuff like this and has never read a single Harry Potter book. My broher would now be in his O.W.L. year and I am extremley smart for my age. (I can read an 1,000 page book in a week with school) My favorite series are HP, LOR, PD(princess diaries) and Eragon. Thank you! ~Kit

Hey I haven't checked this out in a while. auror... health issues... I hope things get sorted out soon! and don't hide so much! sapphire, I don't think you're boring, take that out of your description! Kit, I have two friends who speak Hebrew and it's surprisingly useful. Once I came upon an art history website that was in Hebrew and ONLY in Hebrew and I needed information on a specific painting on that site. Well, I IM'd one of my Hebrew-phone friends (Not sure what you call someone who speaks Hebrew) and he told me what the page said. It would also be useful in my neighbourhood, where we have several restaurants with menus and information written in Hebrew. Russian would also be a useful language in my neighbourhood. The only thing I can read in Russian is "Christmas" "Lenin" and "Russia, Russian, Russky." Those things are, generally, not useful. But I digress. My point is - if you ever have any interest in travel, in studying history/politics/art/literature, or live in a neighbourhood with a large diasporic population, learn as many languages as you can, and NOW... 'cause it gets harder when you get older! hmm...sorry for that random tangent.

amadna, if you ever plan to go into your own buissness, you should speak Chinese. So you can get imports from there. Or something of that nature. Not sure.
